13 years ago I was 24 and selling consoles in my shop. GameCube didn't take off and I remember getting the ps2 in stock and using one to demo GT on the shop floor. Once the customers saw that running we couldn't keep them in stock fast enough. As a small shop we only used to get 6-8 at a time. They didn't stay on the stockroom shelf very long.

Everything happens in America normally so I'm pleasantly surprised to hear that it will still be using Falcons in the Aussie outback even if Max is a yank. The Aussie actors in the first film is what gives it it's charm. Can't see how a game set in oz would work with everyone sounding like most of our tv shows.

I guess this shows the advantage of having a more content but less often approach like MS where they use a beta test period with a range of hardware types to iron out the bugs although I wish they allowed user upgradable hard drives like Sony.
I don't play much FIFA but quite looking forward to seeing how this looks on next gen. No doubt the tech will roll into their other games that I do play such as Tiger Woods. Golf doesn't need 60fps IMO but at 1080p they could ramp up the graphics considerably.

I'm not sure why they bothered actually. The current S model was fine and good looking. I have one of the glossy 250gb models and it never let me down. The few bits they have removed would hardly be worth it for cutting costs, if anything the new fabs required for the case would cost MS more money. I guess it's just to make it look like the One.
*Allegedly* We don't really know anything about the GPU clocks/power yet. Only rumoured so far.
If MS have to down clock to to yield issues then the gap could widen.

I'm only just getting through killzone 2. It's nice to be able to pick up the ps3 classics on the cheap - one benefit of being a mainly Xbox gamer but also with an eye on ps3 and some patience :-)

I noticed at the time that he put his hand in his pocket each time he 'spoke' to the Xbox ( no doubt he had a clicker in his pocket ).
It's just a well rehearsed presentation staged to show the likely user experience at home.
Great. Didn't expect anything else. 60 frames has been Turn 10s benchmark as standard. GT and Forza at 60 is where it's at for console driving sims. 30 frames just isn't smooth enough. It's what keeps cod selling IMO.

Wow. That's quite well thought out for a wind up. But it does demonstrate how anyone can make crap sound convincing enough to go viral. A sort of smear campaign if you will, which is what I think many of the negative Xbox articles that have suddenly appeared on N4G over the last 2 weeks are basically as they don't deal with confirmed facts just rumour and hearsay.

Yeah that actually looks pretty good graphically - better than I was expecting. The physics looks very basic like an arcade racer. There was no body roll at all. Impressive game for a free to play alpha/beta.
